On 27 August – 8 September  international mine-clearance operation Open Spirit 2010 will take place in the Territorial Sea of the Republic of Lithuania and the Exclusive Economic Zone. The operation is aimed at searching for and destroying explosive devices and other dangerous substances left in the Baltic Sea since World War I and World War II. 
 
 
On 9-10 September Annual General Meeting of Baltic Ports Organisation (BPO) will take place in Tallinn (Estonia).

On 16 March a meeting of KIPIS (Freight and Goods Information System) project partners took place at the Seaport Authority. The aim of the meeting – to get agreement on a plan of putting KIPIS into operation with the heads of organizations and associations participating in the project. More about KIPIS
 
On 11-12 March the meeting of European Sea Ports Organisation Executive Committee was held in Madrid (Spain).
 
On 11 March a financial accounting seminar of the international project East West Transport Corridor II  was held in Malmö (Sweden). The aim of this project – to develop transport hubs, strengthen the concept of railway transportation, improve network of access roads, raise qualification of the staff, develop innovative environment of “Green“ corridor. 
 
On 11 March a business seminar on development of transport connections and ways to increase cargo flows with Eastern countries between Copenhagen-Malmö port and Lithuania was held in Malmö (Sweden). More information
 
On 4-5 March a seminar EU funds in 2010 within the framework of Trans-European transport network (TEN-T) programme for the years 2007-2013 was held in Karlsruhe (Germany). More information
 
On 3 March presentation of the book "Chronicle of management, activities and development of water transport of the Republic of Lithuania in 1918-2008" took place in the Small Hall of Klaipėda University (Herkaus Manto str. 84, Klaipėda).
 
On 2 March meeting of partners of the international project Sustainable management for European local Ports - SUPORTS was held in Paris (France). The project is aimed at solving environmental problems of small and local European ports.

On 24 February Klaipėda city mayor organised business breakfast How to make Klaipėda closer to tourists in Radisson BLU hotel (Klaipėda).
 
On 23 February a meeting of  European Sea Ports Organisation  (ESPO) Sustainable Development Committee was held in Stockholm (Sweden). The issues discussed during the meeting included environmental problems, global warming effects, control and handling of pollutant substances generated by ships, port development, protection of natural resources, water quality and other issues.
 
On 18-19 February the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the Kingdom of the Netherlands organised series of events in Groningen (Netherlands) to commemorate the Independence Day of Lithuania; the events included a seminar aimed at introducing economic and business opportunities of Lithuania to the Northern Netherlands. 
 
On 17 February Klaipėda mayor organised a meeting of tripartite council, which was held in Klaipėda city municipality. Agenda of the meeting included discussions on the issue “Re: Effects of economic crisis on labour market and counteractive measures “.

On 9-10 February a kick-off meeting of the international project SMOCS (Sustainable Management of Contaminated Sediments in the Baltic Sea) took place in Linköping  (Sweden). The goal of the project is to select the latest methods for management of contaminated sediments in order to mitigate seabed and water pollution, ensure larger range of marine biodiversity, and decrease the quantities of hazardous substances in fish.

On 3 February the Head of Marketing Department Kristina Gontier attended a kick-off meeting of the Oversize Baltic project regarding Lithuanian strategy for oversize transportation development which was held in Klaipėda Science and Technology Park. More information 
 
On 26 January Director for Infrastructure Vidmantas Paukštė attended a meeting regarding possibility to transport NATO transit cargo via Klaipėda Seaport that took place in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.
 
On 26 January the First Deputy Harbour Master – Head of Vessel Traffic Service Adomas Alekna attended an inter-departmental meeting regarding issues of regulation of sulphur content of marine fuels, which was held in the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania. On 21 January issue on establishment of „Park of Stones“ in Klaipeda was considered at the premises of Port Authority.
 
On 19 January a work group meeting on coordination of implementation of the East West Transport Corridor project, which wаs attended by the Director for Marketing and Administration Artūras Drungilas took place in the Chancellery of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania (Vilnius).
 
On 12-13 January representatives of Port Authority attended TEN-T seminar on project management organized by TEN-T Executive Agency under the European Commission which was held in Brussels (Belgium). More information
