What impact does the port have on Klaipėda city/region? Over 800 various companies and enterprises are engaged in Klaipėda port related operations. Over 23 000 jobs are created in Klaipėda port and in port-related companies. Moreover – the port operations result in approx. 185 000 additionally created indirect jobs. The port generates 4,5% of the total Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Lithuania, and, including the share indirectly related to the port, even 18% of the total GDP of Lithuania. |
