Šventoji is a cosy resort borough and the old fishermen settlement at the vicinity of Klaipėda - at the distance of 35 kilometres. Notwithstanding the successful competition of the Port operating in Šventoji with the then Baltic Seaports up to the XVIII century the present - day Šventoji Marina vitally needs essential reconstruction.
On the 9th of December 2010 when the Seimas (Parliament) of the Republic of Lithuania granted the authority to Klaipeda State Seaport Authority to manage the Marina by the intrust Klaipėda State Seaport Authority, realising to full extent the significance of reconstruction of this Marina to the total region, started reconstruction works of the Šventoji Marina as pleasure and fishing Marina. The total scope of reconstruction works was divided into two stages.
Following the initiative of director general of the Port Authority Eugenijus Gentvilas urgent implementation of the I stage of Šventoji Marina reconstruction was launched. This stage had to become the beginning of the partial exploitation of the Marina targeted to commercial (fishing) and recreational (yachts and other pleasure vessels) activity already in summer of 2011.
With the successful implementation of this stage the depths of the Marina territory waters after execution of maintenance dredging works reach up to 2-3 metres. Moreover, totally equipped 72 mooring facilities for small ships and pleasure vessels up to 12 metres in overall length were installed. Watercrafts entering the Marina are provided the possibility to connect to electricity and water – supply nets, to use a slipway ramp designated to move ships to and from water, sanitary accommodations, shower – cabins, to leave ashore waste products and oily rugs and to receive necessary information.
