At the Seaport Authority (J. Janonio str. 24)  the guests  – journalists working in the newspapers „Metro“ , „Delovoj Peterburg“ as well as on the Russian television were met by the Head of Representative office of the Port in Belarus Artūras Gaidauskas and the Head of Marketing Department Kristina Gontier. The representatives of the port introduced them to Klaipėda Port performance, capacities, development projects, discussed the performance, specifics and logistic issues of the cargo handling companies operating in the port. Discussions also included the issues of economic situation, business environment, and possibilities for international cooperation and investment opportunities.

 

After the visit to the Seaport Authority, the representatives of Saint Petersburg mass-media were taken to the biggest cargo handling company in the port - JSC Klaipėda stevedoring company (KLASCO). Representatives of this company introduced the guests to the company performance and specific activities of the terminals.

 

Having visited the abovementioned cargo handling company, the members of the delegation had a possibility to enjoy panoramic sights of the port waters, infrastructure and supra-structure of the port from the tower of the Vessel Traffic Service and were taken on an excursion around the port waters by ship.
