 On 15 October 2009 delegation of representatives from Kiel (Germany) city and the port visited the port of Klaipėda. The aim of the visit was to get acquainted with Klaipėda port activities, prospects of Ro-Ro and cruise shipping, as well as with functions of the Seaport Authority. The guests were welcomed at the Seaport Authority (J.Janonio str.24) by Director for Marketing Artūras Drungilas and were introduced to Klaipėda Seaport activities, economic indicators of the port performance, development prospects and functions of Seaport Authority. The meeting also included discussions on specifics and logistics of the stevedoring companies operating within the port and the issues that the guests were especially interested in – prospects of Ro-Ro and cruise shipping in Klaipėda port. After the visit to the Seaport Authority, the delegation of representatives from Kiel city and port planned to visit Klaipeda Stevedoring company “Bega”, “Klaipėda Container Terminal“ Ltd. and International Ferry port (Ro-Ro terminal) of Klaipėda Stevedoring company Plc (KLASCO).
