 On the 31st of January – 3d of February, 2010 delegation from Leeuwarden was on a visit in Klaipeda town. On the 1st of February, 2010 delegation under the leadership of the mayor of Leeuwarden town of Netherlands Kingdom came to Port Authority. The goal of this visit was to present capabilities of Klaipeda Port, performed activity and basic projects. The quests were received by the Director for Marketing and Administration Arturas Drungilas who presented Klaipeda Port activities, economic rates, current port development plans and made a review on Port possibilities and capacities, activities and specificity of stevedoring companies and logistics issues. After this visit to the premises of Port Authority the possibility to observe the Port from Vessel Traffic Service Tower was provided to delegation members. Delegation of Leeuwarden municipality members has already been on a visit in Klaipeda. More information Kristina Gontier, Head of Marketing Department, participated in the conference „Situation of Industry of Leeuwarden and Klaipeda Towns, SWOT of the Towns and Cooperation Possibilities“ that was organized in the hotel „Vecekrug“ ( Juros str. 23, Klaipeda) on the 2nd of February, 2010. The goal of this conference was to consider the situation of industry of Leeuwarden and Klaipeda towns and possibilities of future cooperation.
