The Belarus side was headed by the Minister of Transport and Communication of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Sosnovskij. Belarus delegation which consisted of the representatives of Ministry of Transport and Communication of the Republic of Belarus, Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Lithuania, Belarus railways, Customs Committee, Belarus Oil Company, potassium fertilizers producer company „Belaruskalij“ and other industrial companies had meetings in Druskininkai for 2 days.

 

Lithuanian side was headed by the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania Eligijus Masiulis. Lithuanian delegation consisted of the representatives of the ministries of Transport and Communications and Foreign affairs, AB „Lietuvos geležinkeliai“, Association of Lithuanian Stevedoring Companies and heads of Klaipėda port companies. Klaipėda State Seaport Authority was represented by the Director General Sigitas Dobilinskas.

 

Lithuanian and Belarus transit transport working group meeting took place in January 20-21 2009 in Druskininkai. During the meetings there were discussed the questions connected with the transportation of cargo by container-con-trailer train „Viking“ and increase of transportation volumes of Belarus cargo via Klaipėda port as well as conditions, customs procedures and cooperation in air transport field. The creation of common transit system between Lithuania and Belarus were discussed at the meeting too.  

 

After the meeting of transit transport working group, the heads of delegations of Lithuania and Belarus signed protocol concerning cooperation in transport and transit fields.
