On 26 May 2010, the meeting of the leaders of the SMOCS (Sustainable Management of Contaminated Sediments in the Baltic Sea) project of the Baltic Sea Region Programme of the European territorial cooperation objective for the period 2007 to 2013, which was held in Stockholm (Sweden), was attended by the Head of Marketing Department Kristina Gontier and the Project Manager of the Development Department Rasa Stalnionytė. The aim of the SMOCS project of the Baltic Sea Region Programme of the European territorial cooperation objective for the period 2007 to 2013 – to establish up-to-date methods for the management of contaminated sediments in order to reduce contamination of the seabed and water, to ensure wider marine biodiversity; to reduce the quantities of hazardous substances in fish and aquatic organisms. These innovations shall correspond to the HELCOM action plan for Baltic Sea. Project administration and financing, undersigning of partnership agreements and other relevant questions were discussed during the SMOCS project in Stockholm.
