In 2005-2007 Klaipeda State Seaport Authority participated in 9 transport projects of the programme Interreg III financed by the EU.
The success of the projects encouraged Port Authority to participate in the projects of the European Territorial Cooperation Programmes for the partial financing for the year 2007-2013.

East West Transport Corridor II - a Green Corridor Concept within the Northern Transport Axis Approach
The aim of the project – to develop transport hubs, to strengthen the concept of railroads, to improve the network of access roads, to raise qualification of personnel, to develop innovative environment for the "green" corridor.
Long-term goal – to develop East-West Transport Corridor as an effective "green" corridor corresponding to the demands of growing cargo flow transportation.

SMOCS - Sustainable Management of Contaminated Sediments in the Baltic Sea
The aim of the project – to establish up-to-date methods for the management of contaminated sediments in order to reduce contamination of the seabed and water, to ensure wider marine biodiversity; to reduce the quantities of hazardous substances in fish and aquatic organisms. These innovations shall correspond to the HELCOM action plan for Baltic Sea.
