2,90 mln. tn of sea - born cargo, i.e. more by 52,6 thou. tn or by 1,8 percent if to compare with the corresponding period of 2011 was handled in Klaipėda Port in April of 2012.

The aggregated throughput of sea – born cargo in Klaipėda Port and Būtingės terminal in January – March of 2012 totalled 10,36 million tons, the overall year – on - year change was -6,5 percent down.

In March of 2012 2,98 million tons of sea - born cargo, i.e. more by 30,0 thousand tons or by 1,0 percent if to compare with the corresponding period of 2011 was handled in Klaipėda Port.

With the sea born totalling 5,28 million tons Klaipėda Port’s the overall cargo handling turnover throughout January – February of this year was -13,9 percent down comparing with the corresponding period of 2011.

On the 23 of March 2012 the container train on the route Klaipėda-Moscow will be launched (operator of the train is the company „AAA Intermodal“). It is planned that this train will run regular service – once per week.
