Lithuanian communication sector has been presented at the largest China transport and logistic fair

Lithuanian communication sector has been presented for the first time at the largest China transport and logistic fair organized in Shanghai "Transport Logistic China 2018". Lithuania and its most significant communication companies have been presented both at the stand of this exhibition and at the Global Logistic and Silk Road Logistic Business Forum at a special Lithuanian session.

"Such a comprehensive presentation of transport and logistic possibilities of Lithuania in China is a significant step for Lithuania, seeking to become the part of Asia and Europe transport   corridor and to develop the Silk Road economic cooperation with China. We do hope that this will enhance the dialogue with China state institutions and business enterprises and induce their interest in Lithuania", told the head of the delegation, the Vice Minister of Transport and Communications Ricardas Degutis.

Lithuania in China has been presented by official delegation headed by the Vice Minister of Transport and Communications Ricardas Degutis and diverse business delegations The CEOs of Klaipeda State Seaport Authority, SC "Lithuanian Railways" SC Lithuanian Post, Lithuanian National Road Carrier Association of  LINAVA and Klaipeda Free Economic Zone represented state companies.

During this visit Lithuanian delegation has planned to meet with CEOs of China transport and logistic companies and China Post Group Corporation, to visit the most significant transport objects –the ferry terminal Yang Shan in Shanghai and Shekou ferry terminal in Shenzhen. Meetings with the heads of China Transport Ministry and National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China have been planned as well. It has been anticipated to  consider further cooperation of the countries in the field of transport and logistic while implementing the initiative of "One Belt One Road" declared by the government of China People’s Republic and the possibilities of China to participate in the implementation of the largest Lithuanian infrastructure projects in maritime, railway and road transport sectors.

The initiative of the New Silk Road or "One Belt One Road" is extremely significant for Lithuanian transport sector seeking to develop multipurpose terminals and Klaipeda State Seaport, to benefit from the existing infrastructure and to increase the railway, road and air transport capacity. The enhanced relations with People’s Republic of China should result into the  constant China cargo flows that should be transited to the Eastern Europe and Scandinavian countries via Lithuania.

In order to assure the regular cargo freight  by trains from China via Lithuania SC "Lithuanian Railways" cooperate with the largest China transport companies , such as SINOTRANS, CMG, "CAMCe" and "Gentrans". Cooperation in the development of cargo transportation by the route between China, industrial park "The Large Stone" in Minsk region and Klaipeda Seaport may provide new possibilities for Lithuanian transport and logistics sector.
