Largest annual transport exhibition in Russia “TRANSRUSSIA“, organized already for the 15th time, remains the most important and largest event of the year for the whole transport industry in the East, due to the excellent conditions for making new contacts with potential cargo owners as well as forwarding and transport companies, to meet the present customers, directly discuss and learn about the changes and tendencies in this field. This year, the exhibition “TRANSRUSSIA 2010“ was attended by more than 500 companies from 30 countries of the world.

In the exhibition in Moscow, held on 27-30 April of this year, the Klaipėda Seaport presented its possibilities at the joint stand for the eleventh time. The Klaipėda port companies remain interested in Russia‘s market due to the potential of this country‘s cargo flows. Annual growth of cargo flows through Klaipėda is recorded: in 2006 – 1,7 million tons of cargo from Russia, and in 2007 – more than double – 3,6 million tons of cargo from Russia. In 2008 even larger flows of cargo from Russia were carried through Klaipėda  (3,9 million tons) due to the increase of Russia‘s internal railway rates and vast employment of the ports of Russia. In 2009, the flow of the cargo from Russia slightly decreased due to global economic downturn – 3,3 million tons.

During the conference “TRANSRUSSIA 2010“, representatives of the Ministry of communications of the Russian Federation, railways, largest shipping companies, cargo owners, forwarding companies presented their reports.
