Oil spillage localization works are in process

November 12, 2005 (Saturday) 10:55 p.m. there was an oil spillage accident from the “Amalia” that was moored at the berth No. 69 belonging to the enterprise “Bega”.
10:57 p.m. Klaipeda port services informed all such an accident related institutions.
Staff from Oil spillage and diving works section of SE Klaipeda State Seaport Authority immediately got to the oil spillage location by vessel “Zunda-5” to localize oil spillage.
In order to prevent further oil spillage extra rescue vessels were called and all the required rescue means were taken. 
At the moment (i.e. till November 14, 2005 1:00 p.m.) already 10 cubic meters of oil and 3 cubic meters of oil tainted garbage have been collected. The works will be continued till the whole clean-up of the port waters.
