Chinese Journalists to Visit Klaipeda Port

A visit of Chinese journalists in the port of Klaipeda is scheduled for 12-13 September 2006.  The goal of the visit is to learn about the economic situation, business development, and sea transportation prospects in Lithuania. The information gathered during this visit will be used to present Lithuania to the Chinese public before the visit to China of Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus planned in October. 
On 12 September the Chinese journalists will visit the Public Enterprise Klaipeda State Seaport Authority where the presentation of Klaipeda port development perspectives will be held.  Later the visitors will be taken to a sightseeing trip on boat in the harbour area of Klaipeda port.  The journalists will also visit the port companies including AB „Klaipėdos jūrų krovinių kompanija“, AB „Klaipėdos nafta“, UAB „Bega“, LKAB „Klaipėdos Smeltė“, AB „Vakarų laivų gamykla“, UAB „Klaipėdos terminalo grupė“. 
Next day the guests from China will meet representatives of Klaipeda Municipality and will visit the Klaipeda Free Economic Zone Company.
On order to present the tourist routes of Klaipeda region to the Chinese public, the journalists will also visit Nida.
