During the first eleven months of this year 49,36 million tons of cargo was handled in Saint Petersburg port and during the same period of 2005 53,18 million tons were handled. The biggest growth (+21,6 percent or 2 488,5 thousand t) was reached in handling containerized cargo; in comparison with last year there slightly grew handling volumes of cold products and grain  (+5,2 percent and +5,7 percent respectively). The total cargo flow of containerized cargo, metals and oil products made 69,8 percent of the total cargo turnover of  Saint Petersburg port.
There decreased handling volumes of oil products – 2 844,5 thousand t, chemical products – 2 121,2 thousand t, timber – 957,8 thousand t and coal – 823,9 thousand t during January – November 2006 and it predetermined the decreased total eleven months cargo turnover.
37,66 million tons of cargo was handled in Tallinn port during eleven months of this year  (by 4,8 percent more in comparison with the same period last year). According to the types of cargo there increased handling volumes of bulk and dry bulk cargo by 37,0 percent or by 2984 thousand tons, general cargo by 12,3 percent or by 492 thousand tons and decreased handling of liquid cargo by –7,3 percent or by 1580 thousand tons. Liquid cargo made the biggest part in Tallinn port cargo handling structure i.e. 59,2 percent.
2 551 cargo vessel called Tallinn port during January – November 2006 and during the same period last year there called  2 412 vessels (change  +5,8 percent). There decreased passenger vessel calls from 8 050 vessels in 2005 to 7 270 vessels in 2006 (change – 9,7 percent).

26,55 million tons of cargo was handled during January – November 2006 in Ventspils port, and 26,94 million tons was handled during the same period last year. According to the types of cargo there were handled less bulk and dry bulk cargo by 21,0 percent less, by 2,5 times more general cargo or 7,67 million tons, by 1,6 percent more liquid cargo or by 16,58 million tons. According to the types of cargo there increased handling volumes of crude oil (+1 366 thousand tons), ro-ro units (+1 230 thousand tons), raw sugar (+89 thousand tons) and ammonia (+45 thousand tons) in Ventspils port.  There decreased main types of transit cargo – oil products and bulk fertilizers – by 1 147 thousand tons and 1 374 thousand tons respectively. 129 thousand tons of containerized cargo was handled in Ventspils port during eleven months of this year (6 thousand tons last year) and 48,3 thousand passengers were served ( by 1,7 times more than in 2005).

23,52 million tons of cargo was handled in Riga port during eleven months of 2006 and it is by 5,5 percent more than last year. Bulk and dry bulk cargo made the major part of cargo, more than 14,44 million tons or by 7,3 percent more or by 984 thousand tons more than during January November last year. 77,3 thousand tons of bulk fertilizers was handled in the port or by 6,6 percent more than last year. Handling volumes of coal increased by 2,6 percent or 10,09 million tons and it made 42,9 percent of the total turnover of the port.
4,61 million tons of general cargo was handled in Riga port (by 19,6 percent less than during eleven months last year). According to the types of general cargo timber handling volumes were 2 730,6 thousand tons (by 23,2 percent less), and containerized cargo - 1 471,4 thousand tons (by 0,2 percent more). Volumes of liquid cargo increased by 44,3 percent during January-November 2006  in comparison with the same period last year and made 4,46 million tons including 4,41 million tons of oil products (+49,3 percent).
231,1 thousand passengers were served in Riga port during eleven months of this year (change +21,1 percent), including 78,2 thousand cruise vessel passengers.

The decrease of handling volumes of general cargo (during January-November 2006 there were handled 3 183,8 thousand tons , and during the same period 2005 - 2 912,4 thousand tons) was predetermined by less handling volumes of metals and timber. Bigger liquid cargo volumes made impact on the increase of total turnover in Kaliningrad port.
During eleven months of 2006 there grew handling of containerized cargo both from the point of view of tonnage and TEU. Handling of ro-ro units in Kaliningrad port increased by 8, 7 percent, but it made less than 1 percent in the total turnover of the port.
