                      During January-February 2007 4,09 million tons of cargo was handled in Klaipėda Port. It is by 13,7 percent more than during the same period 2006.
                      The biggest growth was reached in handling bulk fertilizers (+39,9 percent),oil products (+29,1 percent)and containers (+22,6 percent) during January-February 2007 in comparison with the same period last year..
                      Cargo turnover in February 2007 has grown up by one fourth in comparison with February 2006.

                      There was the biggest growth in handling liquid and general cargo during January-February 2007 and the volumes of bulk cargo decreased by one tenth.
The growth of volumes of liquid cargo was predetermined by the growing handling volumes of oil products (During January-February 2006 there was handled 1,04 mln. t, and during January-February 2007 – 1,34 mln. t, change  +29,1 percent).
Handling of bulk fertilizers and scrap metal increased by 39,9 percent and 2 times respectively. It made more than 750 thousand tons of bulk fertilizers and 97 thousand tons of scrap metal.
Container handling increased by 22,6 percent, and ro-ro units – by 21,8 percent. The growth of ro-ro units was predetermined by the growing volumes of auto-trailers, trailers and trucks in Klaipėda Port.  
                      During the first two months of this year the total figure of passengers who came to the port increased by 21,9 percent and made  24,1 thousand passengers.
                     During January-February 2007 0,6 mln. t of crude oil was handled and during February  2006  - 0,3 mln. t (in January 2006 there were no handling operations in the terminal).
