Modern two-masted schooner „Flying Dutchman“ comes to Klaipėda port for the first time

The representatives of German Lithuanian community together with the Ambassador of Lithuania in Germany Evaldas Ignatavičius comes to Klaipėda port on the 24th of July 2008 renovated schooner „Flying Dutchman“.   
                                                                                                                                    
On the 24th of July 2008 (on Thursday) at about 13 - 17 h a luxurious modern two-masted schooner comes to Cruise vessel terminal (AB „Klaipėdos laivų remontas“ operated quay No 28-33) with the representatives of German Lithuanian community together with the Ambassador of Lithuania in Germany Evaldas Ignatavičius.
 
The length of the schooner is 40 m and the beam 6,5, flying the Netherlands flag and was built in 1903 for the fishing of herring. After long journeys at sea in order to save traditional sailing by sailing boats for the future generations, this schooner was reconstructed and rebuilt in 2004, turning it to a modern two-masted schooner.
